Advanced Debate Camp

For experienced high school debaters, the Coolidge Foundation’s Advanced Debate Camp is a weekend program that delivers advanced debate training. The Advanced Debate Camp is held multiple times per year at the Coolidge Foundation’s location in Washington, DC.

Students arrive on Friday early evening and depart for home on Sunday morning. Advanced debate instruction is provided in a small-group setting by our debate fellows and coaches throughout the weekend. Among other experts, students will get to work with Dr. Ben Voth, Coolidge Debate Fellow and Director of Debate and Speech at Southern Methodist University.

The next Advance Debate Camp will be held September 27-29, 2019. A camp registration form will be available here on this web page starting in May. To maximize hands-on training and individual attention, enrollment is limited to a small number of students. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the camp, please contact Debate Director Jared Rhoads (jrhoads@coolidgefoundation.org).

[Note: this program is calibrated for experienced debaters. Students seeking more basic training in debate should check out our Introduction to Debate program, which we offer to school groups throughout the year in Plymouth Notch, VT.]
