Grace Coolidge Dies

After the death of her husband, Grace Coolidge sells the Beeches in Northampton and auctions off furniture as well with the proceeds going to the Red Cross. She builds a new house called Road Forks in Northampton with the living area on the second floor for privacy. She keeps up her work to help the Clark School for the Deaf and her hobby, to see baseball games in Fenway Park. She continues her interest in music and helps her church raise money for a new organ. She loans her house to the Waves in World War II and raises funds to rescue German and Belgian children. She is instrumental in giving the homestead at Plymouth to the State of Vermont and helps a curator begin a Coolidge Memorial Room at Forbes Library in Northampton, MA.
