Brian T. Allen is the Mary Stripp & R. Crosby Kemper Director of the Addison Gallery of American Art. He received his BA from Wesleyan University, his MA in the History of Art from Williams College, and his Ph.D. from Yale University. He has written extensively on 19th century American art, French art, and British Romantic poetry.
